Westgate Freeway, Melbourne

Hanson Associates were commissioned to undertake a technical sunlight glare analysis of the prominent two large urban architectural portals installed over the Westgate Freeway.  The outcome of the analysis, in consultation with the architects, was to determine a finish that ensured any reflecting sunlight would not expose oncoming traffic to the risk of potentially dangerous glare.  Our scope of work included a full computer simulation of the freeway alignment and reflecting sunpaths throughout the year.  The computer model was validated through site mock-ups of the proposed materials.

Brisbane Airport

Hanson Associates was contracted to undertake electroacoustic commissioning for the new emergency sound system at the domestic terminal at Brisbane Airport.

Melbourne Airport

Hanson Associates provides ongoing advice to the airport in the design of intelligible speech reinforcement applications covering International, Virgin and Tiger airline terminals and the expansive external forecourt areas.
