Southbank Cultural Precinct Redevelopment (Hamer Hall).

A key objective for the digital precinct is to enhance the experience for both theatre goer and visitor by encouraging audience interaction and expanding the performance arena to encompass the entire precinct.  Through collaboration with exhibit designers, the architects and the Arts Centre technical and marketing departments, Hanson Associates is designing selected venue and corporate facilities including digital signage, IPTV, outside broadcast, paging communications.

In 2008, Hanson Associates were engaged to develop a technical brief for a new world-class sound system for the State Theatre at The Arts Centre in Melbourne. Our work involved a detailed assessment of the auditorium acoustics, including investigations into perceived acoustic anomalies in the stalls beneath balcony overhangs and the acoustic transparency of the heritage-listed, brass-ball ceiling which led to a series of recommended remedial acoustic treatments.

Hanson Associates were responsible for overseeing the installation of audio visual and theatre technical systems for the 500 seat theatre and the multipurpose, community function space.  The installation of a flexible infrastructure means that progressive expansions to technical facilities can continue as uses change and/or funding becomes available.
