Project Description

Hanson Associates were engaged to assist Victoria Police in upgrading the outdated and insufficient sound reinforcement system in the police academy chapel.  The voluminous space is used regularly to hold services and graduations but the expectations of event participants and audiences to hear clearly are not being met.

Following an acoustic assessment of the way in which sound is behaving in the chapel and performance of the existing distributed loudspeaker system, Hanson Associates made recommendations for a fundamentally different loudspeaker solution utilising directional line arrays located in locations with low visual sensitivity.  A concept design with cost estimates for both acoustic and audio visual installations were generated – the project is currently awaiting funding approval to proceed.
